Congressman Garret Graves to Provide Update on Pending SBA Loan Legislation

The Restore Louisiana Task Force will meet Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 9:30 a.m. in the Monroe Public Safety Center Auditorium. Among the updates members will receive, Congressman Garret Graves will detail the current status of pending federal legislation that would prohibit federal agencies from counting Small Business Administration (SBA) loans as a Duplication of Benefits (DOB).

Additionally, representatives from Ouachita Strong, the interjurisdictional resiliency planning process underway with the assistance of GOHSEP, OCD and FEMA, will present their recent progress to the Task Force.

The Office of Community Development will also provide updates on the Restore Small Business Program, the Restore Rental Housing Programs and the Restore Homeowner Assistance Program, which recently announced an application deadline of Oct. 1, 2018 for qualified homeowners. The Task Force will also hear a presentation on the Louisiana Watershed-Based Floodplain Management Program by the Council on Watershed Management, who will oversee the investment of $1.2 billion in CDBG-DR funding for flood mitigation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the Restore Louisiana Facebook page.
